Keeping Active During The Coronavirus Pandemic!

With the lock-down here in France I've found myself with more time on my hands, so it's the perfect opportunity to get on with so many things that I've been putting off, such as finally getting on with creating my website and this blog!

Although it's a terrible situation we've found ourselves in with this virus, I feel I'm much luckier than most, and I've tried to put a positive spin on it for myself. For a start, since the French government announced a lock-down, the weather gods have decided to bless us with some glorious sunshine and lovely warm weather. I don't mind a bit of shameless bragging now and then so I don't mind telling you that my office today is my covered terrace, looking out over the garden.

We all want to keep healthy, now more than ever! That's why it's important that you try to stay active, it could be so easy to use it as an excuse to get stuck into hours of Netflix! But how active can you be if you're being told to stay indoors? If you have a garden, then getting some outdoor chores done is perfect, mowing the lawn, weeding and digging are all brilliant for burning calories! Likewise, indoor chores, vacuuming, mopping and cleaning windows. Your house will never have been so clean!

Maybe you're usually a regular at the gym? Why not look up some workout videos on Youtube? The Body Coach has some brilliant workouts for you to try at different levels, and with or without equipment. I can also recommend Heather Robertson. Yesterday, I did her full body kettlebell HIIT workout and it felt amazing!

In France, we are still allowed to walk and run outside as long as we stay within 2km of our home, and don't meet up with other people. So, today I went for a lovely walk with my little, furry friend, George. We live in the middle of some beautiful countryside and it's been really nice this week to look up at the sky and notice that it's completely empty, I didn't see a single airplane today and we were walking for an hour!

The main thing is George had a fab time chasing the ragondin and getting covered in mud! (He doesn't know it yet but he's getting a shower later!)

I hope I have given you just a little motivation to keep your body moving while we are in the midst of this pandemic. Make the best of it, we don't know how long it's going to last, but it won't be forever! Look after yourselves!
